Princess of the Shtetl (Dial BFYR, Penguin Random House 2027)

In a two book deal, Ellen Cormier at Dial Books for Young Readers bought World rights to PRINCESS OF THE SHTETL, Stonewall Honoree Jake Arlow’s middle grade historical fiction about an 11-year-old girl growing up in a 19th-century shtetl who dreams of being a scholar but is forced into a child marriage when the Tsar’s army begins kidnapping young Jewish boys, told in diary entries in the tradition of Catherine Called Birdy.
